Michael Garcia - December 4, 2012
It's official, the Michael Vick era in Philadelphia is over. Andy Reid announced today that rookie Nick Foles will start the final four games of the year, barring injury of course. Vick is still reportedly in Phase 4 of his concussion recovery, but I'm sure even if he was able to play, the Eagles would probably stick with Foles to get him experience as they start looking towards the future of the franchise.
Foles looked pretty good last night in the loss to Dallas, completing 22 of 34 for 251 yards and a TD with no interceptions. Still, the Eagles have lost seven in a row, but with Foles looking more comfortable and the surprise of rookie running back Bryce Brown, Philly fans can maybe see that there is something to look forward to. Brown racked up 169 yards, one week after getting 178, and scored twice in the loss.
Vick was supposed to make $15.5 million next year, but no way Philly is going to pay him that to be a backup.
